FAQ

Is the Dog Adventure Bus right for my dog? The Dog Adventure Bus is perfect for dogs who enjoy exploring, learning, and spending time with other dogs in a structured environment. Every dog is different, which is why we require an evaluation before joining. This helps us determine if the experience is a good fit and allows us to pair your dog with companions of similar size, energy level, and play style. Our goal is to set every dog up for success while ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone.

What happens during the evaluation? The evaluation is designed to get to know your dog—not to "pass" or "fail" them. During the evaluation, we'll assess: Comfort around new people Comfort around other dogs Play style Energy level Ability to settle Confidence entering and riding on the bus Basic handling and safety This allows us to create compatible adventure groups and ensures your dog will enjoy the experience.

What if my dog doesn't pass the evaluation? Not every dog enjoys group adventures—and that's okay! If we determine the Dog Adventure Bus isn't the best fit, we'll explain why and discuss recommendations that may better meet your dog's individual needs. Our priority is always your dog's safety and well-being, not simply filling spots on the bus.

How do I get started? Getting started is easy! Submit our new client form. Schedule your dog's evaluation. Once approved, choose your adventure package. Let the fun begin!

What is your cancellation policy? Cancellations made more than 24 hours in advance receive a full credit toward a future adventure. Cancellations within 24 hours may be charged the full session fee. If West Coast Wags cancels due to weather or unforeseen circumstances, you'll receive a full refund or credit.

What should my dog bring? Just your dog! We'll provide: Fresh water Treats (unless requested otherwise) Enrichment activities Plenty of supervision and fun If your dog has special dietary needs or medications, just let us know ahead of time.

What vaccinations are required? Rabies, DHPP, Bordetella, Bordetella and proof flea/tick prevention. Recommended: Bordetella every 6 months (verses a year) and Canine Influenza. Titer tests are accepted.

Are puppies allowed? Your dog must be at minimum 6 months of age.

Are intact dogs allowed? We do require all dogs to be spayed or neutered for safety.

How many dogs are on each adventure? We intentionally keep our groups small (typically 4–8 dogs) so every dog receives individual attention and supervision.

Will my dog be crated? No. Our customized Adventure Bus features secure gates and canine seat-belt systems designed to keep dogs safe and comfortable during transportation.

Are dogs ever off leash? Only inside secure, fully fenced private adventure areas. Dogs remain safely restrained during transportation and while loading and unloading the bus.
